A rather curious career opportunity has recently emerged in Hungarian politics for those whose parliamentary or party-political careers have come to an end. Apparently, founding a new party, standing for election or winning the confidence of voters are no longer essential requirements for continuing to regard oneself as a politician. A sufficiently large social media following, a few carefully crafted statements of political purpose and a convenient platform for collecting regular donations may now do the trick.
